The first step to selling on Sell My Prom Dress is to create an account. When creating an account it is important to provide accurate and up to date information. Please take note that we Do Not share your information with buyers or sellers. Now that you have created an account it is time to list your prom dress, formal wear or accessory.

When listing your prom dress, formal wear or accessory you will be able to provide all the details and submit up to 3 photo's. Once you have completed the dress or accessory listing form, upload your photo's and completed payment, your listing will post to the site and be available in the "Prom Dress Room" for review.

Shoppers interested in your prom dress will contact you through the contact form. You will receive an email with the buyers question/message they have left for you. You will need to sign in to your "Prom Dress Room" to correspond with the buyer until you and the buyer exchange contact information.

All types of formal wear and accessories are accepted for listing on Sell My Prom Dress.com including; Prom Dresses, Cocktail Dresses, Evening Wear, Quinceanera Dresses, Homecoming Dresses, Sweet Sixteen Dresses, Vintage Prom Dresses, Ball Gowns, Graduation Dresses, other special occasion wear and accessories.

It is our policy that an item will not be listed unless it includes a picture; a picture must accompany every item listed for sale. We will not crop or edit prom dress photos or descriptions please take the time to make sure your photo(s) are the way you want them and all information is correct. We do reserve the right to exclude any photos we feel are unsuitable or unfit for viewing. Additionally, unsuitable or unfit listings will not be posted to the site until you have made any changes we feel are necessary.

When your prom dress, formal wear or accessory sells, you will need to contact us with in 15 days, so that we may either delete or mark the listing as sold so you no longer receive messages from interested parties.

How do I sell my prom dress?

Once you have created an account go the Sell a Prom Dress page and start the listing process.

This is a 4 Step Process:

Step 1: Complete the prom dress listing form

Step 2: Upload your photo's

Step 3: Review your listing just as it will appear on the site. You may make changes to your listing or checkout.

Step 4: You will be directed to our selected payment processor, once the payment process has completed you will be redirected to your "Prom Dress Room".

Please take the time to enter complete and accurate information with regards to your listing. Inaccurate or incomplete listings will be removed until you provide any missing or erroneous information.

Uploading Your Photos

During the listing process whether listing a prom dress you will be given the opportunity to upload your photo's. Currently, we require at least 3 photo's of your dress.

We suggested that the views be a full length frontal, full length back with entire train and a detailed close-up zoom in on special features. Make sure to show your prom dress in a flattering manner with clear, high quality photos. If the listing is for your prom dress, consider using pictures from your prom in the listing. Your prom dress would have been form fitted to you and it will look especially good in the listing. We suggest using one of the following free online image editing sites, Adobe Photoshop Express, Picnik, or Splashup.

If you prefer to not use your prom pictures, try to find a mannequin or dress form to display your prom dress while taking the photos. Select a good lighting situation, take pictures in the views suggested. Another way to show off your prom dress is to get a friend of appropriate size and build to wear the prom dress for some pictures. Have her put on heels and nice jewelry to really show the dress off.
